Magic Minders: support for members
Magic Minders members offer mutual help and support to those who need it, especially to those who are newly registered.
Providing home-based childcare can be a challenging and lonely job, and particularly daunting for those new to the role. 
​Support might include emotional support, friendship, advice on writing policies; setting fees; organising the environment; children’s behaviour; tracking children’s development; advertising vacancies; completing Local Authority paperwork, and other administrational tasks.
Magic Minders is always keen to welcome new members.

Magic Minders is also eager to support anyone currently in the process of registering or considering a career in home-based childcare. There is a dedicated Facebook group for prospective childminders and nannies,
​so do get in touch.

Membership Fees:
  • Registered childminders (Individual): £15 per year
    • From January 2025: £20 per year
  • Co-childminders, joint membership (2 minders)
    • From January £30 + £10 per additional co-minder
  • Childminder assistants: Childminder members may add their registered assistants to their membership for just £5 per assistant, per year 
    • From January 2025: £7.50 per year
  • Ofsted registered nannies: £15 per year
    • From January 2025: £20 per year
  • Associate members (by invitation of the committee only) £15 per year
    • From January 2025: £20 per year
