About Us...
Worthing Childminding Association, more popularly known as Magic Minders, was formed in 2002, as a not-for-profit organisation, run by a volunteer committee, with the joint aims of supporting Ofsted registered or prospective childminders in the local area, and actively working, through campaigning and advertising, to raise the profile of professional, registered childminding as a positive childcare choice for parents.
In 2023 Magic Minders opened its membership to include Ofsted registered nannies, and Agency registered childminders, in recognition of the similarities in their profession and support that may be needed. |
Magic Minders offers a popular vacancy scheme to assist parents in finding the right childminder or nanny for their child and help members fill their spaces. This is a free service for parents looking for a registered home-based childcarer in the Worthing and Arun area.
The group has gone from strength to strength: running its own dedicated drop-in; providing First Aid and other training; negotiating discounts with local businesses; offering support and advice to members; providing access to a speech and language therapist; organising regular group events and outings, such as to Highdown Windmill, Broadwater Fire Station and Field Place mini railway, as well as taking part in many local community events over the years, including the Durrington and Broadwater Carnivals, Worthing Play Day and the Seafront Planting scheme.
Magic Minders recently celebrated its 20th birthday, commissioning a colourful stained-glass window on Worthing pier to commemorate this achievement.
Please note: Magic Minders is not a Childminding Agency or Childcare Agency
